The Garden Keepers

Long ago it was said that some gardens were protected by quiet watchers. Not frightening spirits, but old guardians who stayed behind long after the world around them had changed.

These two pieces were inspired by that idea.

Each skull was hand-cast in plaster and set into a wooden panel with coffin nails and rope, then surrounded with flowers as if the garden slowly grew around the guardian itself. Over time the vines and blooms became part of the keeper, protecting the space and the memories held there.

One carries soft dusty roses, the other deep crimson blooms, like two different seasons of the same strange garden.
